Booking is now open for our exciting Junior Easter workshops which are taking place at the Cheltenham Playhouse from Monday 25th - Thursday 28th March 2024.
Led by our experienced and highly talented tutors, the children will learn new theatre games that will increase their confidence both individually and when working within a group, story-telling, creating characters, learning songs, and movement, culminating in a performance of “WONKA", which will be performed on the main-stage of the Cheltenham Playhouse, fully costumed (and with songs and dances !) on THURSDAY 28th MARCH at 12.00pm.
This fantastic workshop is formatted to perfectly suit any student who loves performing, and is open to anyone (not just Theatre Studio students), experienced performers, and those who have never attended any drama classes.
SYNOPSIS OF WONKA
Step into the whimsical world of Willy Wonka, the ingenious chocolatier with a heart as sweet as his confections ! From the humble beginnings of his chocolate-making dreams to the grandeur of his renowned chocolate factory, this tale is a delectable journey of imagination, creativity, and pure magic !
Willy Wonka, armed with an insatiable passion for chocolates, embarked on a mission to create the most extraordinary sweets the world had ever seen. With unwavering determination, he scoured the globe for the finest ingredients, exploring hidden corners and discovering the enchanting Oompa Loompas, his loyal companions in the pursuit of chocolate perfection.
As the factory's gates swung open, the tantalising aroma of cocoa and sugar wafted through the air, drawing curious eyes from every corner of the world. Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory became a playground of sugary wonders, filled with edible landscapes, fizzy lifting drinks, and everlasting gobstoppers.
It wasn't just a factory; it was a haven of imagination and delight…… But somebody forgot to send out the invitations ! Would Wonka and his friends manage to save the day before the Bank demanded their money back ??? And who was stopping Wonka become a success ?!!
Open to any student who loves performing from the School Year Reception - Year 6. The show will be performed fully costumed and take place on the MainStage of the Cheltenham Playhouse.
