Privacy Policy

Purpose and Statement:

Theatre Studio is committed to ensuring the data processed by our school remains safe and secure. 

 

This policy has been written in line with legislative change, including both the Data Protection Act (1998) and the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). 

 

Theatre Studio has determined the lawful reasons with which it processes personal data:

  • Legal obligation – GDPR Article 6(1)(c)

  • Legitimate interest – GDPR Article 6(1)(f)

  • Contract - GDPR Article 6(1)(b)

 

There is also some limited data we process with consent from the Data Subject; Consent – GDPR Article 6(1)(a).  

 

While Theatre Studio avoids sharing data with third parties at most times, some data is shared in accordance with our business practices. The sharing of data with third parties will always be consensual with the data subject and/or their parent/guardian, and only if Theatre Studio is satisfied that their Data Protection policy is GDPR compliant. 

 

Main Aims for the policy:

  • Specify the data Theatre Studio collect, how it is stored/protected and the reason for collecting it

  • State how Theatre Studio use personal data in processing

  • Disclose who has access to the data and how long we retain information for

  • Explain Data Subject’s rights with Theatre Studio data including access, rectification and erasure

 

Distribution:

  • To be distributed to Board at AGM and Induction sessions for Board Members

  • To be displayed on the Theatre Studio website

  • This policy will be sent directly to members of the public on request

  • Confirmation of receipt of information - Signed statement from recipient to be held on file

Review and monitoring of policy:

  • Reviewed annually or in instances of legislative change

  • Monitoring is part of Management and Supervision

COVID-19 Compliant

HOW WE ARE ENSURING THE SAFEY OF OUR STUDENTS WHILST ATTENDING THEATRE STUDIO AND THE CHANGES BEING MADE TO ENSURE THAT WE ARE  COVID SAFE?

 

Along with staggered drop off and pick up times Theatre Studio and the Cheltenham Playhouse have gone through extensive risk assessments based on government guidance. A brief overview is below:

 

-regular times for hand-washing and the use of sanitiser

-non fire doors to be hooked back to reduce the need to open doors

-each group has their own designated toilet

-one-way system to be implemented

-group sizes of no more than 15

-social distance spaces to be marked out

-doors and windows in appropriate areas to be opened to increase air flow

-all areas to be cleaned before, during and after group sessions

-a designated medical room for anyone who displays symptoms

-designated “alternative” rooms for groups to go into if a room needs a deep clean

-adults working with groups to remain the same

-groups not to mix

-groups to have a designated room

-appropriate PPE and hazard waste disposal provided

-singing not to be done inside or enclosed areas

-planned lunch breaks - students will take their snack and lunch breaks {Saturdays only} in their bubbled groups with the Tutor

Important Information

about Theatre Studio

  • Theatre Studio has full PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE for all our students,

  • Theatre Studio have FIRST AIDERS on site at the Cheltenham Playhouse for the duration of all our classes.

  • Suzanna Segura {ARISTIC DIRECTOR} is our Safeguarding Officer.

  • Theatre Studio’s Child Protection Policy is available for Parent/Guardian information - please email info@theatrestudio.co.uk to receive a copy for your records.

  • All Theatre Studio Staff have current up-to-date DBS certificates.

  • All Staff have completed their COVID-19 Awareness Course Certificate {CPD}.

  • All Staff have completed Theatre Studio’s COVID-19 Awareness Course Training.
