About
Thank you for visiting Theatre Studio. We are based in Cheltenham at the beautiful Cheltenham Playhouse and are Gloucestershire's leading part-time theatre school. Students train with us because we offer a wide range of musical theatre, acting and dance classes throughout the academic year as well as performances, holiday workshops, West End Masterclasses, theatre trips and much much more !

Theatre Studio began in the mid-1980s to give children and young adults the chance to work with dedicated vocational tutors in a professional environment, whilst also looking out for their mental well-being and boosting their confidence in a friendly and exciting way.

Students can enrol from the ages of 2.5 up to 30 years + and we offer outstanding training for those who wish to pursue a career in theatre as well as those who wish to attend as a hobby. Our statement is simple

Each Child Matters

We have two class structures of MTA (musical theatre acting classes) and DRAMA HUB (drama and improvisation, physical theatre classes). We also offer 1:1 private Speech & Drama classes, audition and scholarship prep, plus LAMDA, Trinity and NEA national examinations.

Our classes are small so that each student is able to fulfil their potential whilst making life-long friends in a safe and friendly environment. And due to the pandemic of COVID-19 each class is bubbled and class sizes capped in line with Government Guidelines. Our tutors are not only industry Professionals and/or qualified teachers, but they also have DBS (Enhanced) and hold COVID-19 Awareness certificates, but many also hold First Aid and Mental First Aid certificates.

I have always believed that every child should be given the opportunity to fulfil their potential and Theatre Studio is proud to train every student to reach theirs. We nurture and develop shy students to develop not only their performance skills but also life skills and train and encourage and mentor the full potential of those who wish a career in the arts by providing them with the 'triple threat' element of theatre, train towards industry auditions and create professionals of the future.
