AND THAT'S A WRAP ON OUR ACADEMIC YEAR !

This Academic year seems to have been the most action-packed one to date, with constant performances, shows and events involving countless Theatre Studio students. The year was kicked off first by TS Ensemble’s debut show with local celebrity Tim Jones, in which students performed multiple musical numbers including a fabulous medley from Oliver! This was then followed by another brilliant TS Ensemble show at Christmas accompanied by Theatre Studio Tutor Meg and her all-girl group ‘The Femmes’.

Theatre Studio students who joined us for our Christmas Workshops were also treated to a theatre trip to see the Cheltenham Playhouse’s Christmas Production of “Chris Mystery and the Missing Christmas Tree’ at Christmas. At this time, we also had many Theatre Studio students performing in their school productions, several of whom as lead roles.

In January, we held auditions for our incredible Easter Show, ‘Grease', which was performed to delighted audiences in early April. This was then quickly followed by the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts in May, where many students saw success in their respective classes, many even winning their category!

In June, TS Ensemble returned to accompany the brilliant ex-student Leo Roberts in his mesmerising ‘Baritone on Broadway’ show upon his return to the Cheltenham Playhouse. Theatre Studio also proudly produced exciting workshops at the Cheltenham Children’s festival.

This was followed shortly by the extremely difficult process of auditioning and casting our winter show, Frozen Jr. Nearing the end of the year, Intermediate and Senior students performed in the ‘Into the Spotlight - Solo’ Showcase, in which they would sing musical theatre solos and duets of their choosing.

To round off the year, Theatre Studio students showcased their sensational talent in THREE different Into the Spotlight performances across the weekend. Throughout the year, we also held engaging half-term workshops and trips to see professional productions at local venues to enrich our students in the world of theatre.

Many students also performed in amazing shows separate to Theatre Studio, including Cotswold Savoyards’ The Little Mermaid Jr, COD’s School of Rock and soon some will perform with Promenade Productions in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Phew ! Roll on September where we have an even more action packed Academic Year !

We hope you all have an amazing Summer !!!!
