Join Theatre Studio every Easter Holidays for our hugely popular, week long Easter School, where once again we will be creating and presenting a full musical in just one week!
Complete with set, scenery and costumes, each and every student who enrols on the course will become part of the company and appear on stage. Rehearsals start on the Monday and the first performance takes place on Friday evening, with the final performance the following evening on the Saturday. As always, creating a full musical from scratch in only 4 days is extremely exciting, as well as hugely challenging, and yet equal importance is given to both the polish of the final show as well as the lessons learnt in the journey to that first performance.
Places usually book up very quickly, so get in first by applying today! Discounts are available for existing weekly (term-time) students, as well as discounts for registering more than once child.
"Footloose The Musical"
We are thrilled to announce that the show for Easter School 2011 will be 'Footloose The Musical', based upon the award winning movie starring Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer.
Footloose tells the story of Ren McCormack, a teenager who was raised in Chicago, who moves to a small town where the local government has banned dancing and rock music. Ren and his classmates want to have a senior prom with music and dancing and must figure out a way to get around the law, and the compulsory 'baddy', Reverend Shaw Moore
Footloose The Musical will be open for all students, of all abilities, aged 9-18. A separate course for our younger students aged 5-8 will be run concurrently, and will be loosely based on the theme of Footloose The Musical.
Both our Senior and Junior courses are led by a professional director, choreographer and Musical Director, ensuring your child receives the best possible tuition whilst rehearsing and performing in the musical. We also have a huge team of experts to help guide all students throughout the week, in such things as solo singing, voice work and stage skills to name but a few
As well as learning theatre skills, the emphasis is very much on learning from team work and having a great time. Each day begins at 10am and ends between 3pm and 5pm, depending on age.
Some of our ex-students have gone on to work on some of the biggest shows in the West-End-so its a great place to start if you want to pursue a career in the theatre!
