theatrestudio celebrated its 10th anniversary in 1999. Originally based around 3 age-groups of about 10 pupils, we now have 11 weekly classes catering for over 150 students!

theatrestudio is primarily based at the Playhouse Theatre in Cheltenham - although there are also branches in Brackley, Northamptonshire and North Oxfordshire. Unlike many other theatre schools, theatrestudio is not a franchise.

Workshops are held on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. Individual students who so wish can be entered in competitive festivals in Cheltenham, Bristol and Bath and for examinations in speech and acting with the Guildhall, London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts and Poetry Vanguard boards. Groups may also be entered - we have won the Gloucestershire one act play festival youth section a number of times, appearing as winners on the H.T.V. 'festival of drama' twice.
